THE BOY NEXT DOOR ✓ EPISODE 130✓

Mom sends me to the store to shop for a dress while she plans the party. Jade and I manage to get an awesome short white skater dress and black high heels. The dress is sleeveless, with a tight bodice and a nice skirt below. Jade squeals when I step out of the changing room. "You silly girl, how can you look so pretty in a dress?" She asks with a laugh, making me roll my eyes. "Stop exaggerating." "You think I am? Wait until Kain sees you. He will go bat shit cray cray." I laugh despite myself. Jade can so exaggerate stuff. "How is it like staying with George?" I ask after paying for the dress and shoes with Daniel's credit card. "We've been living together for less than a day so I wouldn't know. Last night was pretty awesome though. We talked the better part of the night. He told me about the blackmail, how Tatiana and company threatened to tell Kain the little secret if he didn't kiss lily. I understand everything now." "Better. George is lucky to have you." She shakes her head. "Honestly, I'm the lucky one. George is a great guy. Kain too. You two are so cute together." She looks me over when I don't say anything. "Kain loves you, Bella. Don't try anything stupid." "He never said that he loves me." "What do you want? A neon sign on his forehead screaming that he loves you? Actions speak better than words. He might be a little closed off but he loves you. Desperately." "How would you know all that?" "I know Kain and I do know how he lived before you came to our college. He treats you like a princess. Last night, I eavesdropped him talking to George on the phone. He was asking him for advice." "Advice?" "Yes. What he should do for you and stuff." Woah. Most of the stuff is ready by the time we get home. Mom has set a buffet for the guests and everything is sparkling. The cake is an enormous three tier delicacy set in the middle of the spacious living room and every spot is polished. Daniel smiles at me when I walk in and I go to hug him. He kisses my forehead fondly. "Happy birthday kid." "Thank you." I reply with a grin. "Where is the alcohol? I'm old enough." Ha laughs lightly. "If your Mom hears you saying that, you will be grounded until you turn forty." "I know." "Bella?" Mom calls, popping her head from the kitchen. "Alicia is waiting for you upstairs. The guests will be here anytime so you should change already." "What guests?" I ask, suspicion seeping into me. "Just a few of our friends." "You invited your friends to my birthday party?" I ask in disbelief and she shrugs nonchalantly. "Bella, Daniel is a businessman. He should use each opportunity to the fullest. His investors will get time to interact and maybe make more deals." "So where is the fun if we will have all those people here?" Daniel smiles at me. "Easy Bella. They'll stay up to early evening then we will let you and your friends go somewhere and have fun." "Define somewhere?" Mom asks harshly and I'm tempted to roll my eyes. Will she ever stop being so protective? "They can go to Zac's or Kain's. They're right next door." Daniel replies. "Zac's yes, Kain's not happening. I don't want them doing anything stupid." I walk from them and head upstairs where Jade and Alicia are waiting. I shower and wash my hair carefully before letting Alicia work her magic on me. She is sweet and funny and we are cracking with laughter by the time she is done with me. Downstairs, all my friends are there save for Kain, Cara and George. I have a sinking feeling when I imagine him not showing up for my party; especially after the conversation we had last night. Jay hugs me hard, lifting me off the ground and kissing me on both cheeks. I'm laughing so hard when he sets me down and I hug Ethan rather awkwardly. I feel weird, wondering why Kain would be so jealous over Ethan. I don't like Ethan in that way. Mom and Daniel went overboard with the invitations. As usual, a shit ton of influential people are invited and what I expected to be a small family affair is turning out to be a business thing. I'm surprised when Kain's parents walk in together. His dad is meticulous as usual and his Mom is wearing a pretty expensive dress and silver high heels. Her hair is piled in a high bun and tendrils are encasing her face. Again, it hits me where Kain got his good looks from. They walk to us and I see Jade rolling her eyes from the corner of my eyes. Rebecca's eyes light up when she sees me. "Bella! It's been a while. You look well." I grin and hug her back. "You look good as well." "Happy birthday dear. I got you something." She hands me a small jewelry box and I thank her before she walks off to talk to my Mom. "Where is Kain?" The dad asks me and I shake my head. "He's not here yet." "He doesn't come home anymore. Do you happen to know where he lives?" "No I don't." "You're lying Bella. You are his girlfriend." Jay intervenes. "Yes, girlfriend. Not wife. They don't stay together so she wouldn't know. Why don't you call Kain?" He shrugs. "He won't even answer my calls." "We are so sad for you." Jay says while holding my hand and pulling me away. He has a nice charm bracelet for me which changes colour with changes in temperature and inside, the words 'puppy face' are engraved in bold. I squeal while hugging him and he bursts out laughing. "Oh fuck. Your party just got very interesting." Jay says quietly, glancing over my shoulder. "What's happening?" I ask in alarm and he sighs while looking at me. "The tart just showed up." "What?" I exclaim while turning around. Sure enough, Tatiana is walking in with Cara and their father. The father leads them to Zac and Jade who are involved in a conversation and Zac lifts an eyebrow all the way up when he sees Tatiana. Jade wrings her nose in disgust then casts me a look. Cara spots Jay and I and they all head to us. Tatiana's face breaks into a naughty grin when our eyes meet and I panic immediately. What is she doing here? Where is Kain? Jay must have sensed my terror because he wraps an arm around me. "Hey kids! It's nice seeing you again." Ivan addresses us before turning to me. "You are the birthday girl, right?" "Yeah." I say simply. Tatiana is making me very uncomfortable. "Happy birthday. Daniel invited me so I came with my girls. It's been a while since I spend time with Cara, and Tatiana didn't have any plans for the weekend so I tagged her along." "That's great." I say while shooting Cara a deathly look. What the hell? "I'll go to my friends now. You kids should hang out together." He States then walks away to speak with Kain's Dad. "What the fuck are you doing here?" Jay snaps between his teeth once Ivan is out of hearing distance. "I came for Bella's birthday." Tatiana replies smugly. "I even brought her a gift. I got a tattoo as a tribute to her birthday." She turns her hand slightly and I read the words tattooed there. Your worst fucking nightmare I gasp and Jay glares at her. "If you have any sense in that useless brain of yours, you should leave right away." "Like hell I will." She replies smugly. "Cara." Jade calls from behind us, giving Cara a deathly stare. She appears to be ready to rip her fucking face off. "I had nothing to with this. Honestly. Dad told me he was invited and he would pick me from my apartment. I didn't know he would come with Tatiana. " "Satan's bitch, I suggest that you leave this house right now." Jade snaps at Tatiana who just laughs. "I come in peace." Jade shakes her head in disbelief. "What crawled up your ass and died?" Jay howls with laughter. "Maybe you should stick a gun up her ass and pull the trigger." "Good idea. Who has a gun?" Jade asks us. "We can get one at the store. Anyway, I'm hungry. Where is the food?" Tatiana asks. Her guts are just insane. "Do we look like we fucking cook shit around here? You and your hunger can go screw yourselves." Jade snaps then takes my hand, pulling me to the kitchen. "Man, I'm so pissed off right now." She states while retrieving ice cream from the freezer. "I know. Me too. Do you think she will try something funny?" "Are you even asking that? But you are safe sweetheart. With all the boys here, she won't dare do shit to you. Kain will kill her before she lays a finger on you." "Are you sure he is coming?" "Of course. He is at the store with George. They should be here anytime from now. I hope they kick Tatiana out." "Me too." I say quietly. I know I will only keep calm once Kain is beside me. *** Daniel bought me a brand new 2018 Audi A5 Sportback complete with a customized number plate. I actually shed tears when he hands me the keys and tells me that he loves me and he will always be there for me. My new bitch stands proudly in the garage, sparkling like a gem, the number plate proudly reading my name. I'm so excited to take it on a road test but my Mom is as paranoid as ever, insisting that Ryan will be sitting shotgun the entire first week until I'm accustomed to driving on my own. At around six, Daniel finally tells us to leave. Some of the guests have already left and the rest are lounging on the couches taking alcohol. We are more than glad to go and as we troop out of the house, Jay leans to whisper in my ear. "Tonight you are getting drunk. You are old enough now plus your parents will be too occupied to notice." "Keep dreaming Jay." "We shall see puppy face. It'll be a big party. We have a lot of people from school in Zac's house." He insists, taking my hand when he sees Tatiana walking behind us. I notice George and Kain's cars parked outside Zac's house and my heartbeat escalates. My Knight in shining armour is here. Tatiana and her devilish pranks can definitely go to hell. The living room is already packed with party makers when we walk through the door. The music is deafening and they are already getting drunk. The smoke and the sickly smell of alcohol makes me want to gag. Kain is seated on the couch chatting with a couple of scantily dressed girls. They are looking at him and laughing silly and I have no idea what's so funny. A pang of jealous goes through me as Jay pulls me inside. "Your girl is here buddy." Jay calls him and when he looks up, my jealous goes down the drain. His bored expression turns into a breathtaking smile and he stands up, pushing the girls who are flocking him away. He approaches me in long strides and when he gets to me, he hooks an arm around my waist then plants a sound kiss on my lips. Tatiana gasps from somewhere behind me and Kain narrows his eyes at her. "Did you get the wrong house? What are you doing here?" "I came because I knew you would be here. I felt like causing trouble." He lifts an eyebrow and pulls me to rest my head on his chest. "If you are planning one of your sick pranks, you won't get to do that tonight. I'm not letting you spoil my girlfriend's birthday." "Your girlfriend? She already has you wrapped around her finger?" Tatiana asks angrily. I wish I could see her face but Kain's chest is just too comfortable. "You have a problem with that?" Kain dares haughtily. "Yes. I was there first. She doesn't even love you. You've known each other for like a month." "You know what Tatiana? Just stay away from us. If you don't, I will make you." With that, Kain takes my hand to lead me away, not before casting Tatiana a warning glance. We head to the stairs and I'm aware of the girls staring at me. Okay, they are probably staring at Kain; not me, but what does it matter? It irritates me to no end that I have to keep worrying about girls salivating after my boyfriend. He leads me to a guest room on the first floor, his hand feeling too warm in mine, his hold too soothing. He pins me on the door as soon as we are inside and closes in on me, trapping me with his body. His face hovers over mine, his minty breath fanning my face, his full sensual lips inches away, his beautiful eyes boring into mine. "Happy birthday sweetheart." He breathes. "Thank you." I whisper back, my throat suddenly parched. "I have a gift for you." He grins and I look up at him, trying to gauge the mischievousness. I always know when he is up to something. "Yeah?" I ask with a cocked eyebrow. He lifts me easily, making me wrap my legs around his waist. I instantly snake my arms around his neck. "What do you want to do?" He asks with a small smile, his eyes lingering on my lips. I gulp. It's been a whole week since we kissed and honestly, it feels like forever. "I don't know." I squeak, then I fight a squeal when he stalks to the bed with me in his arms. He lays me gently on the bed then leans in until he is hovering over me. My heartbeat picks and I reach to wrap my arms around his neck. "Kiss me." He orders gently. Without thinking, I tug his face down then capture his lips with mine. He hesitates for a moment before kissing me back. His lips are soft, too soft and I go crazy when he start to move them. My dress has ridden up and I gasp when his leg accidentally brushes mine. He kisses me slowly, smoothly without a hurry. I can feel the adoration in his kiss, the cherishing. It's like he is using the kiss to demonstrate what he would never say out loud. When he pulls back, I'm not breathless with desire, I'm just happy, sated and totally smitten. He kisses my nose, my forehead and my cheeks before getting off me and walking to the closet. He comes back with a bouquet of nicely trimmed white roses and a single red rose in the middle with a placard placed on the side. I sit up when he hands them to me. "Your birthday gift." He states simply then he stands there, hooking his hands in his pockets. He seems to be too nervous which is totally unlike him. I bring the amazing flowers to my nose and take a deep breath. I'm aware of his eyes on me as I set them on my lap then pull the placard out to read it. The words are written in his neat handwriting; I promise to be with you until the last petal on the last flower falls. Happy birthday Belle. What? How long will the flowers last even in a vase? A few days? A week? Is that how long he plans on sticking around? I look quizzically at him and he just shrugs. Looking at the flowers once more, I smile despite myself. There are twenty one of them, to signify my age I guess. Among them, only twenty are fresh; the white ones. The remaining red rose is plastic an totally fake. The message sinks in then. Until the last petal on the last flower falls It's never going to fall. Until forever Hopefully, he means it. Walking to him, I hook an arm around his neck and plant a chaste kiss on his lips. "Thank you. This was so thoughtful of you." He relaxes visibly. **** By 2200hours, the mood is just insane. Drunk party makers are making out all over the place and the rest are doing dumb shit on the dance floor. I feel nauseated as I watch them so it's a relief when Jay comes to me. "I've been looking all over for you." He says as soon as he spots me. "What have you been up to?" I ask accusingly. I didn't even notice them leaving. "Kain's mom took alcohol and it didn't go well with her medication so we had to rush her to the hospital. She is in a critical condition." Oh my God. Is she ever going to be okay? "Where's Kain?" ''He is riding with George. They should be here anytime from now." I look around, scared silly at the fact that I was in the same room with Tatiana with no one to turn to. "What are you looking at?" Jay asks with concern. "Where is Tatiana?" "I don't give a shit about Tatiana. If you are worried, just stop it. Zac and Ethan were keeping an eye on you. You know Kain would never leave you unprotected." I breath in relief while Jay clutches my hand, leading an unoccupied corner which is sort of reserved. Ten dining chairs surround the table and Jay sits right next to me. He texts the rest of the clique and a moment later, Cara, Jade, Zac and Ethan joins us. "Where's the alcohol? We are legals." Jay says and Zac stands up. "I'll get some. Give me a hand Cara?" "Sure." She says while standing up. They come back with a crate of beer and bottles of tequila. After my experience last time, I'm not having any of those. "George is not here yet?" Jade asks while reaching for the party cups. Ethan's hand stops her before she touches the alcohol. "You're drinking?" He asks, his brow furrowing. "Yes I am. Tuck in your claws big brother. I'll be fine." He gives her an unsure look then proceeds to let her do her thing. Jay snorts beside me and I pinch him on the thigh making him yell. Right on time, Kain and George walk in. I lift both eyebrows when I notice that Kain's eyes are bloodshot. They walk to our table and Kain looks around before spotting me. "Butt off, Ethan." He says harshly to Ethan who is seated beside me. I'm sandwiched between him and Jay. Was that a slur? I don't think so. I've never seen Kain drunk. Ethan hesitates for a moment before moving away from me. Kain occupies the blank space then leans to whisper in my ear. "I missed you." That's definitely a slur and he reeks of liquor. "Are you drunk?" I whisper back and nods while giving me a shy smile. "Yes. You look beautiful tonight." I narrow my eyes at him. This will get out hand in a minute. "Do you want to lie down." He chuckles quietly. "Fuck no. I only took a few shots and there's no way I'm leaving you down here with Ethan. He is a creep." "Kain, twelve shots are not 'a few'. You practically drank an entire bottle of Scotch." George seethes and Kain rolls his eyes. "Leave me alone brother." I'm honestly tempted to laugh. He is too adorable when drunk. "You are drunk. You should go and lie down." Cara addresses him and he rests his head on my shoulder. "I'm not drunk so shut up.." "Drunkards never admit that they are drunk." Zac points out and half the table laughs. "Why did he drink?" Jade asks, her face masked with concern and amusement therein. "His mom." George says simply. I get it now. It must be tiring going up and down all the time for your Mom, hoping everyday that she will live another day. "Hi guys." Tatiana's voice makes my heart jump and I watch in horror as she pulls a seat at the end of the table. "Satan, we meet again." Jay says pleasantly. I look at Kain but he is busy staring at me, tucking my hair behind my ears. "Aw. Aren't you two the most adorable couple ever!" Tatiana purrs sarcastically and I scrunch my nose in disgust. She definitely is the queen of assholes. "Can we play a game? This is boring and we have the devil's deputy here so we can as well pass time." Zac suggests and Kain, whose head is resting on my shoulder, turns to look at him. "What game are you people playing?" "Truth or dare I hope." Jay replies with a grin. "Okay. Truth or dare it is." Kain says while sitting up. He has an arm slung over my seat and I'm half leaning into him. If that is not enough to show madam tart that Kain is not available, I don't know what is. "Cara, you start." Jay orders and Cara turns to Zac with a smile. "Truth or dare?"
