THE BOY NEXT DOOR✓ EPISODE 128✓

The entire week is a blur. Jade is a total mess and she is numb and almost lifeless the entire time. Cara and I move in with her in her parent's house and the boys pick us in the morning for school then take us back home in the evening. Kain and George provide most of the money towards the burial arrangements since Jade doesn't know any close relatives. In the process of taking care of Jade and raising the finances, kain and George are forced to keep on communicating and as a result, they are a bit close now. However, no one dares to mention the brotherhood thing and they all act like they issue never occurred to begin with. After the burial on Friday which is attended by guys from school and a few parents, we eventually leave the house. Jade takes absolutely nothing from the house and it is auctioned to cater for her dad's pending hospital bills. George talks her into moving in with him since she can't afford her hostel accommodation anymore and after lots of persuading, she eventually gives in. It's been such a busy week and I spend very little time with Kain in the presence of our friends and no time alone at all. He was ever up and down planning the burial with the boys, visiting Gianna at the hospital and all that stuff. It's a big relief to everyone when we lay the deceased to rest on Friday afternoon before heading back home. My mom and Daniel should be home on Saturday before midday so I have very limited time to myself. I have tons of assignments to do and I know I won't be able to do much over the weekend. My birthday party will take the better part of Saturday evening and we are planning on going shopping with Jade and Cara on Sunday, all part of Daniel's birthday treat for me. That's exactly the reason why I should clear those assignments before I go to sleep. When we leave the cemetery, Kain drives to the hospital to see his sister while Zac drives me home. I get out of his car when he pulls up outside their house at the exactly the same time that Ethan climbs out of his car. I had forgotten about him with everything that was taking place the whole week and I actually didn't remember that he comes home on Friday. He smiles while hugging me briefly, a smile that I don't bother to return. Frowning, he takes my face between his hands, his brow creasing when he notices the shadows under my eyes. "What happened to the lively you?" He asks while searching my eyes for an answer and I shrug. "Died I guess." He snorts. "Very funny. What happened over the week? You look tired and sleepy; sad even." Taking a deep breath, I decide to tell him the truth. He will find out either way and I'm done keeping secrets. "Jade lost both parents on Monday." His jaw drops. "What happened?" "Her father died of cancer and her Mom committed suicide shortly after. She wrote in her suicide note that she had no reason to live. Her husband was her life." Ethan is just staring at me, barely comprehending what I'm saying. Finally, he shakes his head as if to clear it. "My father is dead. I never even got a chance to meet the old bastard." Feeling bad for him, I reach to touch his hand. "I'm sorry." He sighs then shakes his head. "Don't be. He made my Mom kill herself. Jade's Mom killed herself because of him as well. He was not a good person. In fact, I'm glad I didn't meet him. I'd probably have beaten the shit out of him."
