THE BOY NEXT DOOR✓ EPISODE 127✓

"My sister is hurt, and you are not attending to her?" Kain asks him in a low dangerous voice, moving to stand right in front of him until their eyes are leveled. "Who are you to tell me what to do? Do you know my job better than me? Get out of that door right now!" The doctor seethes. Kain grits his teeth angrily. "Attend to her right now!" "Now that you are acting all bossy, I'm not doing shit to her. Attend to her yourself." He says haughtily then starts to walk away. I'm not prepared for what happens next and I gasp when Kain hits him hard right on the jaw before grabbing him by the shirt's collar. I rush to pull him back and the doctor stares at him in disbelief. "Kain, Step back." I beseech him and he looks at me for a moment, his jaw still set angrily before he lets me pull him away from the asshole of a doctor. Right on cue, the door opens and our friends walk in. They are accompanied by a middle aged man who looks very familiar. He is dressed expensively, a bodyguard walking right beside him. I'm surprised when I realize that he is holding Cara's hand. I'm confused when Kain tenses beside me as soon as their eyes meet. "Kain, your father called me. He said you needed my help." "Yeah." Kain replies curtly. "Gianna needs to be taken to a private hospital right away." The guy turns to the doctor, who is staring at him with a dropping jaw. "Get an ambulance ready right now. A doctor and a nurse to accompany them as well." He commands and the good old doctor cowers. "Yes Sir." Sir? "Is that your girlfriend?" The man asks Kain who automatically tightens his hold on my hand. "Yes. Do you have a problem?" He shakes his head. "Not at all. I always imagined you would end up with Tatiana. She is ever talking about you." Tatiana? What the hell is happening?! "Too bad. I'm already taken." Kain replies without apologies and the guy laughs. "You're so feisty, just like your father. He should be very proud of you. You are a strong character." "I bet I am." Kain snorts. "Your father is a good man and a very good friend of mine. He is sponsoring my campaign. That's why I am doing this for him. Normally, I'd have let my driver do this shit.". Kain says nothing. He doesn't seem to be too interested in the conversation. I'm somehow shaken because it's clicking in my mind this guy is Tatiana's father. Now I understand why he looks all too familiar. I have seen him on TV a few times in the past. He actually looks like a good man, maybe a little bit feisty like most politicians but overall, he is nothing like Tatiana. But then again, he is not related to Tatiana by blood. He is just her mother's husband, if that makes any sense. He stays with us until Gianna is taken to the best hospital and assigned a private hospital room, a personal doctor and a fleet of nurses on standby. There's no need for us to stay there anymore after the doctor assures us that she is going to be fine. We all decide to check on her after school. Tatiana's Dad, whose name I've come to learn is Ivan, offers to buy us lunch but we all decline the offer. The fact that he is somehow related to Tatiana makes me feel quite uncomfortable around him. It's just my luck that Kain keeps a protective arm around me the entire time. I'm riding with kain, Jade with George and Zac with Jay. Cara chose to leave with her father. Kain is driving behind the other cars when George's car, which is leading our small convoy, comes to a sudden stop. Zac's car follows suit and Kain pulls up behind them. He rolls down his window then sticks his head out when George walks towards us. "What." Kain asks impatiently. "Check this." George replies, handing his phone to Kain who glances at whatever is there. I watch as his expression changes from bored to confusion, shock, then pure horror. "Jade's dad passed on?" He asks in disbelief. Oh my God! "Apparently yes." George replies breathlessly. "Shit. Who send you this message?" "Her Mom. She says she has no idea how to break the new to Jade. What should I do?" Kain thinks for a moment, his eyes fixed on the windscreen. He knows nothing about the cancer since he was missing when we found out. He turns to George with an unsure expression. "Jade should know." "I know. I just have no idea what to tell her." "We can head over to her parent's place right away. Her Mom sure needs some company right now." Kain suggests. George nods. "Let's go then. I hope Jade won't freak out." "Of course she will. We just have to be there for her." Kain replies before turning on the ignition. George walks dejectedly to his car and I'm fighting the tears that are threatening to fall. I've no idea how Jade will receive the news.. When we get to their place however, her Mom is no more. Her body is hanging on a hook attached to the living room's ceiling; cold and totally lifeless, a suicide note placed on the coffee table.
