THE BOY NEXT DOOR✓ EPISODE 134✓

I gaze at the flowers seated on the nightstand and I grab the placard to read it one more time.

"I promise to be with you until the last petal on the last flower falls."

What bullshit.

I grab the vase then climb out of bed. Jade stops me in my tracks.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm dumping this shit in the trashcan."

"Bella, you are not thinking straight right now. Sleep it over."

"Will sleeping it over change the fact that Kain was doing the nasty with Tatiana barely ten minutes after I left him to sleep?"

She chews her lower lip for a moment. "The flowers are innocent. They didn't sleep with anyone; did they now? They shouldn't suffer on Kain's behalf."

She takes the vase from my hands and sets in back on the nightstand.
"Maybe Tatiana saw you leaving the room and she went in?" Cara suggests.

"And it was okay for Kain to undress her and be all over her because I had left?" I snap and she half lifts her hands.

"Easy, you need to calm down Bella."

"Tell that to your slutty sister."

"She is a stepsister."

"I don't give a fuck about that!"

"You two stop it right now!" Jade yells, standing in front of Cara. "I can't believe you are doing this right now. Why are you getting personal? Because you sure as hell not talking about Tatiana and Kain anymore!"

"She has a crush on him as well." I point out. I'm being petty as hell but I need to get the pressure from my system. I want to be angry at everyone.

Jade holds me by the shoulders, looking at me straight in the eye.
"Bella, you need to calm down right now. You are mad at the wrong sister. Cara didn't do anything wrong."

I shake my head sadly. "I  know. I can't help it."

"Hug it out." She commands and I pull Cara into a short hug.

"I'm sorry for being a bitch."

She smooths my hair back. "It's okay Bella. I don't blame you."

"I'm just breaking apart right now. I have no idea what to do. Every time I close my eyes, I see that image engraved in my head. I can't erase it."

Cara pulls me against her in a tight hug and I sob against her shoulder.

My phone has been ringing off the hook and Jade finally answers it when she can't stand it anymore.

"Kain, stop calling. She doesn't want to talk to you, I don't want to talk to you. Just stop it already!"

She listens for a moment, her jaw twitching with rage.

"Trust me you don't want to do that with me right now." She says, then she hangs up and switches my phone off.

There. I always knew she was a genius.

What does he want to tell me anyway? That he has screwed me; figuratively, by screwing Tatiana literally?

"Let's get some sleep. We have asses to kick tomorrow." Jade suggests and I turn to her.

"Please don't do anything stupid tomorrow. I don't want to meet Kain."

"You will, darling. I have to give him a piece of my mind. He can't go around fucking with your feelings."

"Jade, this is my mess. You don't have to do anything about it."

"Are you kidding me? If Kain messes with you, he messes with all of us. We are a team, Bella. He was playing all mad when you guys kept a secret from him so he can't get away with mistakes either. He's not the only one who has feelings."

"What if he just makes me feel worse?"

"He won't. We got you. Plus, I'm sure Jay already kicked his ass for you."

"I'm not meeting Kain." I say with a tone of finality.

"That's just too sad, isn't it? Because you are coming with us. Now let's tuck your heartbroken ass into bed."

I stay quiet as she takes my pajamas from the closet and tosses them to me. I know I won't be getting any sleep but I change into them anyway.

Her phone rings and she eyes it with contempt.
"If kain is calling me I will..." She breaks off then shakes her head.

"It's Ethan."

She looks at me and I shrug. Of course she can talk to her brother.

She listens for a minute before turning to me.
"He wants to come over."

"Right now? It's almost two in the morning."

"It's late. You come in the morning." She speaks into the phone then hangs up.

My life is a real soap opera right now.

Ethan is already in my bedroom when I wake up. It's a wonder that I managed to sleep for three hours. He is lounging on the sofa, listening as Jade retells what I told them last night.

He sits up when he realizes that I'm awake..

"Bella! Good morning?" He says carefully, his eyes on my face as he walks towards the bed.

Is he here to try his luck with me now that Kain fucked up? That would be so Ethan.

"You are the early bird." I say sarcastically and Jade gives me a very surprised look.

"He means no harm Bella. He is just checking on you."

"I'm sorry."
I move to create space and Ethan sits beside me.

"We were planning on taking you out today. Just to get a break from.... All this,..you know?"

I look at Jade and Cara suspiciously and they are looking at me with hopeful expressions.

"Where exactly are we going?"

"To the park." Cara says excitedly. "I've never been there. It's just outside the city and I hear it was renovated the other day. It's a kick ass place to have fun."

"I don't want to have fun. I just want to stay in bed in my pajamas all day and feel sorry for myself."

"Not happening." Jade says while standing up. "I wanted us to give Kain and company a surprise visit but Ethan thinks otherwise. We can as well go to the park and chase monkeys."

I roll my eyes. Chasing monkeys indeed.

"Mom wanted us to go shopping today. It's her birthday gift to me." I whine helplessly. I just don't want to go to a park.

"Who shops on Sunday?" Jade asks, choosing random outfits and tossing them on the bed. "Plus, we already told her that we are going to the park and she is okay with it.  She kind of trusts Ethan, you know?"

I give up and drag myself out of bed. Jade won't leave me alone unless I adhere to her wishes.

My tears have somehow dried and all I feel is emptiness. I feel sorry for myself. I'm such an idiot, letting Kain wrap me around his finger.

Now look at me.

Just fucking look.
