THE BOY NEXT DOOR✓ EPISODE 122✓

"She is a party animal. She is having fun with her friends." I know the reason Dad is telling me all this is because he is drunk so I don't push it. I don't want him telling me stuff he might regret tomorrow. "Where's the boy?" I ask, referring to their child. I never bothered to find out the name. "His name is Kane. He is asleep." The name somehow gets my poor heart beating furiously. It reminds me of another name that rhymes. Don't go there, Bella. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" "Sure thing. Take care of yourself." "Goodnight Dad." I hang up and lie back on the bed. I'm not sure how I feel about all that. I thought Dad loved Celine? And why would he refer to her as a rebound yet they are legally married with a four year old son? Is he still in love with Mom? I don't think so. ***** "Are you the bride or what. You look hot!" Alicia exclaims once she is done with my make-up. "Just stop it." I push her hand away with a grin. Looking at the full length mirror, I must admit that I look different. In a good way of course. I can barely recognize myself. She helps me slip the gown over my head, making sure that it doesn't smudge my makeup. She would kill me if I messed up her one hour face beat. "Don't try anything funny or I'll be very pissed off." She warns us while walking to the door. "Define funny?" Jade calls after her with a mischievous grin. "You know what I mean. One small stain on your dresses before the wedding begins and I'll deal with you." Alicia doesn't even sound scary so I burst out laughing. She just smiles then leaves. "We should totally take a photo right now." Jade suggests. "We don't know the next time we're getting all dressed up." "Sure. We should take a selfie while we still look hot." Cara alludes. Jade turns to her with a not so kind smile. "Speak for yourself. We're always looking hot." 'Okaaaay. Enough of that." I take my phone and Jade turns with a scowl just as the flash goes off. She looks at the selfie then grits her teeth. "I look like a sick bitch with ice cubes in her blood. Try again." We smile and take at least ten pics before stopping. We all huddle over the phone, grinning like maniacs at the perfect pictures. "Hello ladies." Jay. "Hi buttface. We missed you." Jade says with a grin, climbing out of bed to hug him. "You don't say." He says cheekily before turning to Cara and I. His jaw drops. "Hi sexy ladies. Who the hell are you and where is my puppy face!" I laugh to humour him before hugging him. "You look hot. Are you taken?" He asks me with a smirk and Cara snorts. "This is one of the moments I totally wish Kain was here to whoop your ass." Jay lifts an eyebrow. "Kain can't tell me shit. I'd beat him to pulp." "You wish." Jade sneers then she pushes him away when she sees my pained expression. "Can we not talk about Kain, please?" "Of course." He catches on instantly. "George, Zac and Ethan are downstairs. I was given the pleasure of fetching you ladies." "You guys are still talking to Ethan?" Cara asks in surprise. "Of course. Boys don't do each other like that. Let's go, hotties." We stream downstairs with Jay holding my hand and I'm feeling elated. Why am I so excited anyway? I hug Ethan very awkwardly and Jade hesitates before hugging him very briefly, pulling back as soon as their shoulders touch. George is looking at them like a hawk; like he is set to attack if Ethan tries to hurt his girl. Generally, Ethan is acting a little bit mature since he caused the ruckus on Sunday and for the first time ever, he doesn't appear to be too comfortable in his own skin. The wedding is being held at the space between our house and zac's. Two tents have been erected and the decor is out of this world. I have no idea when they did all that but they sure did a kick ass job at it. Guests are already trickling in and I recognize a few from the engagement party. We are told to stay inside the house until the grand moment when we walk down the aisle before Mom. Gianna, who has been in school the entire week is all excited. She is wearing a purple dress a few shades lighter then Cara and Jade's but it will do. She is supposed to go in with Jay, Cara with Zac and George with Jade. Ethan is somehow not part of the bridal party but he doesn't seem to mind. He is busy clicking photos of us. "Do you think I'll manage?" I ask nervously, resting my head on Jay's shoulder. My heart is beating too fast as the moment gets even closer. I can't believe I'll have to grace the aisle alone. I am the maid of honour so that is protocol. If I fall on my face, I'll never be myself again. "Of course puppy face. You will do just fine. Plus, you will be gaining experience for your own wedding." I smack him on the shoulder then I stand up when Alicia tells us to get ready. I take a deep breath once my friends have done their part before I waltz to the alter, where Daniel is awaiting Mom. ***** The wedding is officially over and the newly weds are surrounded by people congratulating them. I roll my eyes inwardly when I spot Kain's father. Thankfully, Aria is not with him. He walks to us in long measured strides and I instinctively clutch Jade's hand. "Hi kids?" He says casually, like we have been friends all our lives. George looks up when he hears the voice then he clicks. With his eyes on his father, he walks backwards then he turns and leaves the reception. Oh well. "How can we help you." Ethan asks with obvious hostility. "Where's Kain? His mother just told me he hasn't shown up for a week." "You are his father. You should tell us." Jay answers innocently but on the inside, I know he is burning. "Why are you kids looking at me like that? You look like you want to kill me." He exclaims with narrowed eyes and Zac scrunches his nose. "We were kind of having a private moment." Cara tells him with an attitude and he shakes his head before walking away. He must think we are all bewitched. I walk to Mom and Daniel once the crowd sort of clears. I hug her and she kisses me on both cheeks. Her eyes are stained with tears and she is clutching Daniel's hand to infinity. Daniel hugs me and I wrap my arms around his neck. "Thank you." I whisper once he releases me. "For what?" "Taking care of my Mom. And myself." "It's nothing Bella. I love both of you very much." I hug him again, remembering my dad's words from last night. "Dad didn't show up, did he?" I ask Mom who shrugs. "I don't blame him. He is a busy man." Then her eyes widen. "Oh, speak of the devil and he appears." I follow her eyes just as Dad walks into the reception. He is wearing a pinstriped suit and he looks totally presentable. If you ask me, the suit is too expensive for the amount of money he earns. Oh well, maybe he saved to buy it for Mom's wedding. He is clutching a little boy's hand. Kane, I presume. The boy is cute to be honest. He has ruffled babyish hair and he is wearing black jeans, a white T-shirt and a denim jacket. Again, I notice that the clothes should be too expensive for dad to afford. Maybe Celine is loaded? I am about to go to him when Mom grins. She is looking over my shoulder with a raised eyebrow before she turns to me. "Looks like the day just got better." She say with pure amusement. Gianna screams in the background and i hastily turn around to see whatever is happening. And my poor heart stops for a moment. Kain is leaning casually on the tent's pole, his hands in his trouser pockets. Gianna flings herself into his arms and he catches her. She presses herself against him, yelling at him but I have no idea what she is saying. Because I have no idea what to do with myself right now.
