THE BOY NEXT DOOR✓ EPISODE 119✓

I'm not myself at all when Ryan takes me to school on Tuesday. I chose clothes at random and I didn't bother hiding the shadows under my eyes with makeup. I just don't care. I start walking briskly towards class before I notice Tatiana standing right in front of me. She is wearing denim booty shorts, a crop top and red high heels. Gag. She flicks her hair haughtily when I get to her, and I realize her sidekick is right beside her. "It's been a while. I missed you." Tatiana says sweetly and I fight the urge to roll my eyes. Honestly, I don't want to do this with her right now. I'm just not in the mood. "I'm in a hurry so excuse me." I say while trying to perfect a glare but it's not easy. She is very intimidating. "Not so fast. Wait, what happened to your face? Oh poor puppy. Did you sleep at all?" I grit my teeth angrily. "Step out of my way Tatiana." "I can have lily do your make-up free of charge. Call it a charity drive. You really look pathetic." "How is it any of your business if I look good or not?" She does that hair flick thing again. "To be honest, I have no idea how Kain can resist me and go for you. You look disabled. I mean, your face is a multicoloured mess and your wardrobe is totally wanting. What do you have over him?" "Nothing." I reply while crossing my arms. "Maybe if you fixed your stinking attitude he could actually look your way." She laughs out loudly and Lily joins in. "I was waiting for you to mention that Kain left you. Seems like you are not going to tell me anything." "How did you know that he left?" I ask while glowering at her. "Cara told me." "She did?" I ask in disbelief. "Yes. She tells me everything. Anyway, now that Kain is not here, I can terrorize you all I want. That virginity thing is still intact, isn't it?" She asks with a wink and a shudder runs through my body. "I'm going to class. Excuse me." She grabs my hand and lily blocks my way. "I mean it Bella." Tatiana whispers in my ear. "I'll have that stupid hymen torn by at least three men. We can't have naive little virgins walking around in school and feeling all special; can we now? You're going to love it. That's a promise." Fear makes me crippled and I can't walk even if I wanted to. She gives me a slow lazy wink then turns to walk away. If I know Tatiana at all, then I know for sure that she means whatever she says. I want to run but I'm fixed on the spot. I have no idea when she is planning on accomplishing her mission but I can tell it's soon. I fumble in my bag until I trace my phone. I'm not sure who I want to call. If I call my Mom, serious trouble will break out. I don't want to alarm Daniel and of course Kain is not an option right now. I end up dialling Jay's number. We haven't talked since the incident at Zac's and I am so relieved when he answers on the first ring. He doesn't sound as excited as he always is. "Hi Bella?"He says quietly. I kind of feel bad that he doesn't call me by the usual pet name. "Jay, I'm so scared." "Why? Are you okay? Where are you?" He asks in very quick succession. "Im in school and Tatiana just threatened me. Where are you?" "I'm out of town with George and Zac right now." "What are you guys doing?" "We are looking for Kain." "Where? It's a very big city." "We have a few ideas. We are looking everywhere we've ever visited with him." "I hope he is okay." I say tearfully. "He is fine. Kain is not suicidal or anything. Plus, he is a very reasonable person.. He might take sometime to come around, but he eventually will." "I really hope so." I hide a sniffle. "What did Tatiana tell you?" He asks with enraged concern. Fear creeps into me just thinking about her. "Same old threats." I say uncertainly. "She told me she is free to do anything to me now that Kain is gone." "That dumb bitch. I'm coming back for you." "No. Just look for Kain. He needs you more right now." "Don't be ridiculous puppy face. Kain is the strongest among us. He doesn't need anyone, but you do. Plus, he would feel better knowing that you are safe with someone he can trust." "Kain doesn't trust any of us anymore." I say without much thought. "How sweet of you to mention that! Either way, I'm coming back. Unless you promise to stay indoors until we are back." "My Mom will freak out if I don't go to school. She shouldn't know about Tatiana." He groans. "Yeah, right. Meanwhile, go to class and wait for me there. She can't hurt you in a room full of people. I'll be there in about two hours." "Thanks Jay." "Anything for you puppy face. See yah." I'm so relieved once I hang up. What did I ever do to deserve a friend like Jay? He would actually do anything for me and I don't think I even deserve that. The class is crowded as usual and a few people turn to stare at me. I'm aware that I look like a clown and they have me at a disadvantage. I sit on the farthest corner away from Tatiana and I barely concentrate in class. However, I manage to write the notes because my friends will need them. When the class ends, I begin to panic before I see Jay walking towards me. I cast a quick look at Tatiana and she is glaring at me. She must have been aware that all my friends were not around before threatening me. I run right into Jay's arms and he hugs me tightly. He senses that I really need his strength right now so he keeps holding me; his hand moving reassuringly up and down my back until I calm down. He looks at me with a frown then shakes his head. "What were you doing last night?" He asks a bit angrily. "Why?" "Because you look like you just crept out of a hole. Did you even sleep at all?" I shake my head. "Not really. I was so worried about Kain." "Bella, Kain is a grown ass man who can perfectly take care of himself! You don't have to worry about him. You only need to worry about yourself." "I can't help it Jay." I say helplessly and he sighs before hugging me again. "So, where is Jade?" I ask as we walk towards the café. "She went to her parent's place for a while. She couldn't believe what happened either." "So I was all alone in this school?" I ask in shock. "That's why I came back. We can't risk letting anything happen to you. Kain is mad enough as it is." "Tatiana told me Cara mentioned to her that Kain left." He shrugs. " I saw that exchange. Cara meant no harm. She was telling Tatiana that she has nothing to hold over George anymore." Better. Jay forces food down my throat and I almost wish I didn't call him. Almost. Tatiana keeps a very sharp eye on me but Jay calmly advises me to ignore her. At the end of the last class however, it's obvious that she is very keen on keeping her promise because she keeps trailing me. "She won't leave you alone." Jay sighs in despair when he notices her following us to the parking lot. "What do we do?" I ask hopelessly. "I'll just walk to her and break her face." His fists are clenched. He is damn serious. I grab his arm and drag him towards the parking lot. "We are in school. If you hit her, you might get arrested, or worse; expelled." "It would be so worth it." "Forget it Jay. You are not hitting Tatiana." He throws his hands up in mock surrender. "So what do we do now?" "I'll just go home. She can't hurt me when I'm at home." He shakes his head. "You can't go home. Your Mom has no idea that you are in danger so she will let anyone into the house." "So what should I do?" He looks at me straight in the eye. "You are moving in with us until everything is back to normal. My parents won't mind and Tatiana won't hurt you if I am with you all the time." I almost laugh. "Jay, that doesn't make sense. My Mom won't let me." He thinks for a moment. "I have a plan." "Yeah?" "I'll call Jade." At the end of it all, my Mom is convinced that Jade is unwell and she wants me to move in with her until she is okay. After all is set and Jay drives me home to get my clothes, Jade keeps yelling at us through the phone, asking us not to sleep together. I trust Jay so I am calm as he drives us to his parent's house. I hope I will live to see another day. With Tatiana hot on my trail, I can never be sure.
