"Does anyone have water? I'm dying over here." Jay whines while eyeing my water bottle with puppy eyes.
We have been hiking for almost four hours and we are all exhausted. The trail is deserted save for the occasional rabbit crossing our path. We've been talking and laughing the entire time and we never noticed time flying so fast.
Actually, we didn't start our hiking as early as expected. Zac and Cara ended up too drunk last night and they slept until some time before noon. It's late afternoon already.
"I can't walk anymore." Gianna groans before slumping on the grass.
"Me either." Jade replies and sits down beside her.
I join them after tossing my water bottle to Jay who blows me a kiss.
"Maybe we should go back. I don't think the girls can take more than this." Zac addresses the rest of the boys.
"No, let's keep going. Jay said we're going to find elephants at the end of the trail." That's Gianna.
"And you believed him?" Kain asks in surprise.
Jay slaps Kain on the shoulder.
"Bro, if you don't tell a few lies, you're never going to get laid."
"You want to have sex with my sister?" Kain glowers at him.
"What? No! I was just saying. There's this girl in school who I want to bone. She has a killer figure but her face is not sooo pretty. I'd totally do her though. Maybe I'll even drive over tonight after we get home. She lives right off campus."
"What's her name?" Zac asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Nana." Jay replies with a grin.
"Blonde hair, green eyes, Jade's classmate?" Zac asks again.
"Yeah, I guess she's the one."
"I already did her."
"What? When? Where?" Jay asks incredulously.
"On your birthday. You never mentioned that you had the hots for her."
"I don't have the hots for her. I'll just get another girl."
Their conversation really surprises me. I always heard about such guys who were after no commitments but I never had the pleasure of meeting one. Now I am facing not just one, but several.
Is Kain like that too?
Ethan, who has been drinking the entire time, quickly answers my unasked question.
"I bet Kain already did her as well."
"I don't think so." Jay answers before Kain gets to talk. "I've never heard of Kain hooking up with girls from our school. He is so choosy."
I should have known.
"Maybe girls from your college are ugly." Ethan offers pleasantly.
"What did you just say?" Jade snaps while narrowing her eyes at him.
"Oops sorry." Ethan says, zipping his lips with his fingers. Jade rolls her eyes then reaches for the bag in which we packed lots of sandwiches.
Kain sits beside me and I'm somehow tense. I'm feeling a bit uncomfortable with the whole hooking up thing. I'm jealous that he has probably been with plenty of girls before me but I really can't do anything about it. Again, he owes me no explanations.
"Are you okay?" He asks me quietly when I kekep quiet the entire time.
"Yes." I lie and he lifts an eyebrow.
