THE BOY NEXT DOOR✓ EPISODE 109✓

Cara tenses beside me and the realization of what I just did hits me. That was supposed to be a fucking secret! I look at Kain and he is calm, his eyes on Cara. Jade is looking at me like she just saw the eighth wonder of the world. "What is you wrong with you? You only took two shots!" Jade laughs at me before turning to Jay. "I think your puppy face needs milk." She thinks this whole thing is just a big joke? Cara forces a laugh and Kain narrows his eyes at her. "Cara, it's called truth for a reason. I believe Bella just asked you a question." He challenges and she cowers under his stare. I'm shocked. I expected Kain to be angry and chastise me for outing on his secret but he doesn't appear to be mad at me. "Yes. I am." Cara breathes after a moment of silence. "You are what?" Jay asks in confusion. "Tatiana's step sister." She says in small voice. Step sister. I'm watching Jade and she is just looking at her best friend, her eyes almost popping out of their sockets. She doesn't look angry, she looks shocked. I can't imagine how she is feeling at the moment. It's all my fucking fault. I wasn't supposed to say anything. I know she is feeling annoyed and betrayed. "How now?" Zac is the first to recover and he sounds totally pissed off. "I don't know ...." Cara breaks off then shrugs. "Bitch, talk. Now!" Jade yells before picking the half empty whisky bottle from the floor. "If you don't, I'm shoving this whole shit up your ass." George holds her despite her struggles and pulls her to sit on his lap. He encloses his strong arms around her, deeming her struggles futile. Jay, who has been unusually quiet for a moment clears his throat. "Can we get explanations before I set this place on fire?" "Don't you dare. My Mom would kill me!" Zac tells him. "That was figurative, buttface. Now can Cara explain what she has to do with Tatiana?" "You weren't supposed to tell anyone." She accuses Kain who just shrugs. "I did." "Wait, so you two are now keeping secrets?" George asks angrily. "Look who is mad at people for keeping secrets. Double standards at it's best." Zac says with a snort. Holy shit. Jay jumps up and rushes to Zac before he spills the beans and wrecks havoc. He grabs the beer in Zac's hand and hands it to Ethan. "Do you want to lie down?" Jay asks him, feeling his forehead with the back of his hand. "I'm not drunk, idiot. Leave me alone." Zac retorts. What is wrong with Zac? He is normally a very rational guy but I think he just had too much to drink. I really, really hope that he won't say anything stupid. I already said something that I regret and I'd rather we didn't have any more drama. "What is happening right now?" Jade asks with furrowed brows. "I have no idea either. Explanations anyone?" Ethan asks and I focus on my cup. I'm feeling so guilty because my stupid utterance started all this. "Can we all go back to Cara's topic?" Kain suggests. "I know that George is keeping a sensitive secret but he promised to tell us when he is ready. Don't push him." Zac snorts but Jay is just too happy to react. In as much as he loves drama, I can tell he is not particularly looking forward to the big revelation. "So, Cara. What was that all about." Jade asks angrily. "Please let me explain. I'm an idiot." "Trust me I can tell." Jade interrupts, her eyes narrowing at Cara. I know it's taking George all his energy to restrain her. "Just let her talk, will you?" Ethan asks, earning an eye roll from Jade. "I didn't know that I was related to Tatiana until last month. We are not even that related." Cara starts. "And that's supposed to make me feel better?" Jade asks disbelievingly. "Can you just let her explain?" Kain asks her impatiently and she calms down. "Tatiana is not my dad's real child. Her mom had her from a previous relationship." Cara begins. "Mom died when I was little so dad got another wife to help take care of me. Both Tatiana and her mom used to mistreat me so I moved out and went to live on the streets. Dad managed to track me down when I was sixteen and he rented an apartment for me. When I met Tatiana in campus, I didn't recognize her at first. It had been so long and I didn't have much childhood memories. Plus, Tatiana is not someone I would have wanted to remember. My life was a living hell because of her." "How did you find out?" George asks disbelievingly. "Dad was attending this particular function and he insisted that I should be there. He was launching his campaign and he wanted the whole family there. That's when I met Tatiana. Of course I knew her from school but I had never talked to her. It was a shock and I stormed out of the function. She has been haunting me ever since." "How." That's Jay. "She knows I'm friends with Jade so...." "Was." Jade interrupts her. "Don't mind her. Just continue." George urges Cara who nods. "She wanted to get Kain through me but before that, she wanted to separate all of you. She hates it that you guys are such close friends." "So what did she do?" Zac asks. "She had me text Jade with George's phone. She wanted Jade to find her boyfriend kissing lily. Then she has this other big thing she is holding over George that she wouldn't let me know." "Did you know that she was planning on kidnapping Bella and Jade last Sunday?" Jay asks angrily. "No." "Why the fuck didn't you tell me that you are Tatiana's sister? You traitor!" Jade yells and makes to get out of George's arms with no success. "I didn't want to lose our friendship Jade. You are my best friend." "Were. It's past tense." "So basically you are Tatiana's spy." Jay adds sourly. "Not at all. I told Kain everything she was planning. I even helped him out with the plan against Tatiana." "Which plan?" I finally manage to ask. I guess it's the one Kain was saying he's going to tell me later. "Should I tell them?" Cara asks Kain who just shrugs. "Kain's father is pumping money into my dad's campaign. Without him, there's no campaign so dad won't get the gubernatorial seat he is so yearning for. Basically, Kain threatened Tatiana that he's going to convince his dad to pull out his support if she continues messing with all of you, more so Bella. If that happens, Dad will kick Tatiana and her Mom out so she can't risk it." Jay turns to Kain. "Can your father do that for you?" Kain snorts. "I wouldn't even ask him to do it. Those were empty threats but they served the purpose." "So you think it's okay if this backstabber keeps hanging out with us?" Jade asks bitterly. "Sure. What she did about texting you was wrong, but we all owe her Belle's life. If it were not for her, that idiot would have raped her at the stadium." Kain says then he grits his teeth angrily at the memory. "You know what? I don't care. I don't want anything to do with her. Ever!" Jade fumes. "I need fresh air." George releases her then he takes her hand when she staggers. Wrapping an arm around her, they walk out of the cabin. Jay shakes his head as if to clear it before he turns to Gianna. "Wanna walk with me?" She jumps to her feet, oblivious of Kain's glare. "Sure. It's hot in here." Jay pulls his shirt on then takes her hand and they leave as well. Zac takes his laptop out of his bag then slumps on the couch. He has been drinking way too much and I hope he gets some sleep soon. "Wanna walk with me?" Ethan asks me and I look at Kain before replying. He is glaring at Ethan. "You touch my girl, I kill you." He tells him severely before standing up. His girl? A sweet thrill runs through me. Kain offers me his hand and I willingly take it. He pulls me to my feet, his arm snaking around my waist as soon as I stand up. Casting Ethan one last glare, he leads me to the door. It's cool outside. The moon is full and the light is beautiful. Jade and the rest are nowhere to be seen and Kain takes my hand, leading me to an hidden trail behind the cabin. We walk for a minute or so before we get to a rocky area with jutting rocks which make nice makeshift seats. Kain sits on one and I'm about to sit beside him when he pulls me to sit on his lap. I should have been used to that by now but my heartbeat picks all over again. I'm seated with my back to him and he encircles me with his arms and nuzzles my neck. My head is lying back on his chest and he rests his chin on my hair. We sit there for a long moment staring at moon on the clear sky, no words spoken. His heart is beating steadily against the side of my face and his muscular chest is pressed to my back. It's epic. "It's a beautiful night." I say quietly when the silence is too much. "It is." Kain replies absently. "Turn around." I turn to face him, sitting with my legs on either side of his waist. His handsome face is illuminated by the full moon and he is just gazing at me like I am a phenomenon. He pushes my hair back before tracing my jaw with his thumb. For some reason, that gets me all excited. "I need a favour." He says quietly. "Yeah?" "Don't let Ethan or Zac kiss you. I want to be the only one who does that." I swallow dryly. "Okay." "That's my girl." He says with an hint of a smile in his voice. He looks at me for a moment before he leans forward until his lips are barely touching mine. "Kiss me, baby." He whispers against my lips.
